Editorial standards
Leaf & Larder is building a practical reference library for tea, spices, and herbs. We separate useful information from product promises.
Our standard
Every guide should help a person make a real decision: what an ingredient is, how it tastes, how to use or prepare it, how it compares, and what information is certain, limited, or still unresolved.
What a mature guide includes
- clear identity, forms, flavor, storage, and practical uses;
- task-based choices, substitutions, and related ingredients;
- visible sources, a review date, and a version;
- machine-readable facts that match the visible page; and
- clear separation between editorial information and product availability.
Health-related questions
People reasonably ask about sleep, digestion, energy, and other health goals. We may explain traditional use, composition, and the state of reputable research. We do not diagnose, offer personal medical advice, promise an outcome, or turn an evidence summary into a reason to buy a product.
Evidence labels
When a guide discusses health-related research, it should identify the outcome and the evidence level: established, limited, mixed, or insufficient. It should distinguish ordinary food or tea from concentrated extracts and supplements.
Sources and cultural context
We prefer primary, public-health, botanical, standards, extension, and subject-matter sources. Cultural and historical context is attributed specifically; traditional practice is not presented as clinical proof. We do not copy supplier marketing copy, product photos, or recipes without permission.
Review and updates
Every guide is versioned. Material uncertainty is marked for review rather than disguised as certainty. Corrections and evidence updates are made in the guide record and reflected on the human page.
Commerce boundary
A guide is not a product offer. If Leaf & Larder later sells or refers an item, availability, price, fulfillment, and claims will appear in a separate merchant record.
